Welcome to Castle Korfball Club Online. We are a fun, friendly club who are always on the look out for new players. No experience of korfball is required - most people join as complete beginners. If you want to play competitively or just to keep fit then we would like to hear from you.

What is Korfball?

Korfball is a ball sport played by mixed teams (four men and four women per team). If you imagine crossing basketball and netball you've got a fair idea of what korfball looks like, but it's quite distinct from both. It's fast moving, skilful, non-contact and very much dependent on teamwork. A 2 page leaflet with a summary of the rules can be found here. Put simply, Korfball is great.

Castle Korfball Club

Castle Korfball Club was founded in 1996, and is based in Newcastle-under-Lyme, in sunny Staffordshire. We train on Wednesday evenings at Keele University Leisure Centre, and we presently have three teams that play weekend games in local and regional korfball leagues. Most of our home games are played at Kidsgrove Leisure Centre. We currently have around 30 members, and are always looking for new recruits, so if you're interested, read on.

Fancy having a go?

Only a handful of our players had played korfball before joining Castle, so a lot of the coaching is pitched with new players in mind. You'll be surprised how quickly you learn! Your first few training sessions are completely free of charge, and then club membership is available at very reasonable prices. Please contact Dave on 07779 750067 or castlekc@hotmail.com for more information.

Alternatively, if you don't fancy training just yet, you'd be very welcome to come and watch one of our games to get a better idea of what korfball is all about. Get in touch with us and we'll meet up with you beforehand to explain the rules. We're also an extremely sociable club: we keep the local pubs in business after training, and arrange many other events.

If you like the sound of korfball but can't make Wednesday evenings, Crewe & Nantwich Korfball Club train on Tuesday evenings at South Cheshire College, and welcome new members.
